How would you feel if you tried everything and even paid close to 6 figures to upgrade yourself  

and still not see the success you desire?

 That was me when I first started. I worked hard for 7 days a week and did all that I was told to do and yet when the moment came for me to prove and provide for the one person that was so important to me 

I wasn't able to.

That feeling sucked and thoughts about weather I was the right fit for this job did cross my mind.

But all of that changed when I began to evaluate what I was doing and courageously took this

"We tried to apply for a HDB but couldn’t proceed because I couldn’t qualify for the loan

I started this career in financial planning in my early 20s ( more than 10 years ago while I was still studying )

No network, No connections, No clear idea how to succeed just a sense of hope and excitement after being shown what’s possible during the recruitment process

Like owning a nice house, car and material pleasures

But as soon as I started - I was hit with the reality that this dream wasn’t easy to achieve at all

The first few years were really hard

Though From the outside, things seemed fine. There was a sense of camaraderie in the team regular team activities, and a positive atmosphere - It gave me the illusion I was in the right place

So I didn’t think to question my environment nor my leaders but took responsibility for my results and trust me it wasn’t good

I consoled myself by saying its all part of the process and with determination I will be able to make it

🕦 During those years, i worked 7 days a week, Morning to night, no off days

Making the best out of every moment as I figure things out as I go along

💵 On top of that, i even invested close to 6 figures out of my own pocket into courses, books, seminars, coaching

That was how much I was committed to my own growth and success but instead of getting closer to my dream income and lifestyle

This was what happened

6 years into my practice - my then girlfriend (now my wife) and I had the thought of settling down

😢 And so we applied for a housing loan only to realise that my income did not meet the requirements.

it made me question where could have gone wrong and wondered if things would be different if my environment was different

In all that I was thinking - One thing was certain - if nothing about my current state changed, neither would my results

And so after careful consideration, I made one of the biggest decision that changed my life

I transited to another team

Under another leader and saw for the first time what I was missing out. With renewed clarity and an amazing culture and environment of sharing I went from struggling to

Before this I would have never thought that a leader and the environment could make such a huge impact to my growth until I made the move
